This is a retro 1950s inspired wedding and engagement shoot we put together for Brides & Dolls promo video. The engagement is a modern twist on 50s greaser style and the wedding portion features an authentic pink 50s wedding dress and crimson veil that pairs perfectly with the pink engagement ring. Modeling for us is a real life couple, Iris Ray & Benjamin White. The groom's boutonnière is a pin made from a handkerchief for a unique alternative to flowers and ties in with the greaser engagement. Those goodies paired with saddle oxfords and a retro bicycle make for a super sweet shoot. All paper details are hand pressed by Lucky Penny Paperie to suit the 50s style and announce their Valentine's Day wedding. The cupcakes are custom designed by Knead to Bake to mirror the lace detail of the bride's pink gown. 1953 pink Cadillac model cars are favors that each guest is sure to love. It's a unique idea for off beat brides looking for some swoon worthy inspiration for their wedding day.

How and why did Brides & Dolls come about, you ask? Meagan tells you all about it...
On June 7, 2014, I asked Kelly if she could shoot a wedding with me. My original 2nd shooter had something come up last minute and though Kelly owns her own business, she came along and helped me out. She’s an incredible photographer. In fact, she was actually my wedding photographer! How’s that for an endorsement!? We had so much fun shooting that Charleston wedding that I remember driving home and jokingly mentioning to her that we should just make a new company and shoot weddings together all the time! Little did I know…
I invited her to shoot a few more weddings with me and I continued to marvel at how well we worked together. Then, as I began editing the images from those weddings, it became clear how perfectly we compliment one another with our differing shooting styles. My strength resides in my ability to capture the real, candid moments as they happen and my outgoing personality during the wedding day. Kelly’s strengths are in covering all those gorgeous wedding details flawlessly and her romantic, creative ability to pose her brides so they look like they belong on the cover of a magazine. We really are the yin to each other’s yang.
The other thing that I love about Kelly is that she cares every bit as much as I do that the bride not only gets gorgeous images, but that her wedding day experience is everything she dreamt it would be. There are plenty of photographers who aren’t concerned with putting their client at ease, or making sure they’re enjoying the picture taking process (something that accounts for hours of your wedding day). Working with someone who is consistently upbeat, positive and caring makes such a difference. And Kelly has positivity in spades.
